HEARD THE WORLD HOLIDAY CHARITY CONTEST 2008-11-20 The holidays are rolling in and we are so excited to announce this year's Heard The World Charity Contest. Last year's contest inspired so many people to help in their communities and abroad. Thank you to everyone who participated. For this year's contest we want to shine a light on the non-profit organizations that do so much to make a difference in our world. If you know of a non-profit charity organization whose efforts you feel deserve extra recognition this holiday season, please email us and tell us all about them! And just to mention, we are not limiting these non-profit organizations to Heard The World's usual focus on youth and education programs. We are keeping this contest open to any non-profit you feel deserves special recognition. The person who submits the winning non-profit will receive 4 tickets and a meet and greet with the band at a show of their choosing in 2009! Not to mention $5000.00 donated directly to the organization from Heard The World. The second place submission will be awarded 2 tickets to a show of their choosing in 2009 and $2500.00 for the organization they shined the light on. The third selection will win $1500.00 and a signed copy of O.A.R.'s newest album All Sides. To further honor those who are involved, we will be donating $700 to CSF in each organization's name, which will provide one child a year of schooling. Submit your recommendation via email to info@heardtheworld.org with the following info: Please include Contest written in the subject line. Please include a website and contact for the organization. Write a brief description of why the organization deserves more recognition this year. What sets them apart from others in their efforts? How has their efforts inspired you in your life? O.A.R. to Perform on MTV's Concert for Vets 2008-10-22 O.A.R. has just been added to the lineup of artists for MTV's "A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE." The concert, which was created to honor our newest generation of veterans and bring attention to the issues they face upon returning from battle, will air on MTV on Friday, October 24th at 8 PM ET (check local listings).
