Okay, I don't know if this is the right way to go about this, but i just don't know any other way...So here goes:
Recently O.A.R. played a concert down near where my brother, a U.S. Marine, currently lives at Camp Lejeune. My brother called me the day he got tickets and was so excited because he LOVES O.A.R. He and about 30 guys from his company all went to the concert and had an absolutely amazing time. My brother actually caught one of the drumsticks. But as the concert continued, one of the other guys really got on him to give up the drumstick to the wife of one of his friends. My brother, who doesn't have a selfish bone in him, eventually gave it up. He called me the next day super excited about the concert, but so damn depressed about his decision. And look, I know it was his decision, but you have to understand my brother. He is literally the MOST unselfish person I have ever known. Obviously...he's a Marine. He's already deployed once to Iraq and he's getting deployed again one day before his birthday, on January 18th. If there is anyway at all that someone or someway this message could get the guys in O.A.R. to help me give him something before he leaves. I mean , literally anything! A drumstick, a signed t-shirt, a gum wrapper!!! Anything! My brother has pledged to give his life to protect my family and everyone else's. I know they probably get requests like this everyday from all over, but I just have to ask because it would mean the world to him! He has used this band's music to cope with being a brand new soldier in a new place where he knew no one, preparing for his first deployment, the death of a another Marine brother, and now another deployment. He is my baby brother and already he has seen and endured more than I can imagine. I know he would be so embarressed by me making him sound like a such a hero because I know he thinks he's just doing his job. But, he is my hero! Not just because he's a soldier, but because he has lived has entire life taking care of others. And, he is just so gentle and kind and strong and loyal and amazing. PLEASE HELP...anyone who can!!!
